Visa - "Traffic Was A Killer." Visa tried to top "Dining Out" (see favorites) by calling in James Bond. But it turns out they still needed some Z in the end.

35 MB mpg

Legend Computers 2 - Weirdos made this commercial. But Ziyi's in it, so we host it, weirdness and all. From 2001.

4 MB avi

2% Water 1 - It's 98% water and 2% love. If you download these commercials, you will never look at bottled water in the same way again.

The tagline at the end means "Love is always thirsty."

8 MB mpg

2% Water 2 - This Korean series from 2001 are among the earliest commercials she made. We all went crazy in the forums when AssaLee became our hero and found this one where she hums "Somewhere Over The Rainbow." Yeah I know, but it was hard for Westerners to get Ziyi stuff back then.

10 MB mpg

2% Water 3 - It wasn't like nowadays when we serve it all up to you on a silver platter.

The actor is Jung Woo Sung, who starred with her in Musa. The plot is that they can't be together because her father is a gang leader and had him beaten. Here, he's blaming her for everything, yelling "Go away!"

8 MB mpg

2% Water 5 - Tragedy strikes. Of course now he misses her. Pretty ironic that she drowns in a bottled water commercial.

I skipped one part of the series where you can barely see her. It was a waste of her talent, unlike the exceptional performance of a corpse she provides here.

13 MB mpg

2% Water 6 - For a while after these commercials, you could buy 2% water in your local Chinatown. I know a guy who drove a long ways just so he could buy some. (Same guy.) I think he drank it, though.

Remember, "Love is always thirsty."

9 MB mpg

SARS - A public service ad she made during the SARS epidemic in April 2003. Actually quite charming, with very pretty music.

"With our usual attitude, together, we will go through this unusually difficult time... In this difficult time, besides paying more attention on personal hygiene, one should also be responsible for the health of other people. I believe protecting yourself means protecting others. [text: Keep Going, Chinese!]"

1 MB rm

Wildaid - Ziyi and other celebrities such as Jackie Chan made promotional spots like this one for Wildaid, to help protect pandas. This is fairly early, from around 2001 I believe.

4 MB wmv

China Mobile - Ziyi filmed this commercial for China Mobile in 1997. That makes it one of her earliest, coming after her film Touching Starlight but before The Road Home. It's beautifully made and titled "Mother and Daughter". Ziyi appears one-minute in.

5 MB flv

Beijing Liquor - Her second commercial, and fourth TV appearance. She made this commercial in 1996, probably shortly after she filmed Touching Starlight. Not the best image quality, but it's clearly her.

30 second - 1 MB flv
15 second - 1 MB rm

Miscellaneous

This low quality video is unfortunately the only one we have that shows Ziyi winning the Hundred Flowers award for her role in the Road Home. Another scene shows her receiving the Silver Bear at the Berlin Film Festival

1 MB wmv

Cherish - Ziyi briefly appears in this 1994 music video by singer Xie Xaodong. The song is titled "Cherish". This might be the first time she appeared on TV, although a commercial for Oil of Olay may have preceded it.

12 MB avi

Max Illusion Night - KAO (the company behind Asience) loves Ziyi so much, they once projected giant images of her onto the side of the Yokohama Grand Hotel for their tenth aniversary. Right click and choose play after it loads.
